As the graceful, stylized M on each bottle suggests, Maddie Lane Vineyards’ wines are elegant, true and clean. The Chardonnay is selected from the Mokelumne River sub-AVA in Lodi which is on the west side and borders the San Joaquin Delta waterways. The area is known for the alluvial fan from the river itself stemming from the Clements Hills (the beginning of the Sierra Foothills). Daytime temperatures are warm, but Pacific Ocean winds cool down the appellation each afternoon.
This Chardonnay boasts tropical aromas that mix with flavors of red and green apples, slight lemon zest and very slight vanilla oak. Kautz Farms always has employed sustainable practices in all of its vineyards to ensure viability for Maddie and her family and the generations that follow her.
Pair with poached salmon, chicken marsala, glazed pork loin, light pasta dishes and savory appetizers.
